YRC Settles Age Discrimination and Retaliation Claims

YRC has agreed to settle claims arising from it alleged discrimination and retaliation against a former employee who had worked for the company for nearly 15 years. Rather than face the prospect of discovery and a jury trial, YRC paid an undisclosed amount to settle claims that it made age-disparaging remarks, and later retaliated against the employee to whom those remarks were directed. The lawsuit was brought by The Klamann Law Firm in the United States District Court for the District of Kansas pursuant to the Age Discrimination in Employment Act. Andy Schermerhorn was lead counsel in the case.
